Semi-Friends Only
All my fanfiction is public, and there's a handy link to an organized list of all my works to the right, but all other posts are locked (and please do not archive my work elsewhere without my permission). As it stands now, my work appears on FFN, Symbiotica, here, and nowhere else.

Occasionally, in the past, I have cut friends on my list, so if I've cut you and you want to be added back, just drop me a line (It was nothing personal, I assure you. Sometimes I just trim down on the f-list a bit). Generally, I do not post anything but fannish stuff here, so if you're more interested in following the personal ramblings of Rushing Wind, the woman, send me a PM and we'll see what we can do. :)

Anyway, comment to be added!

Vid: Kirk/Spock - What Hurts the Most

HD is available, just check the settings. While this isn't blocked anywhere, per se, it isn't available on any mobile device, like a tablet or phone (sorry, it's beyond my control. Blame Youtube's Content ID system). In any event, here is a direct link in case the embedding acts wonky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aw-sTz81G14

Also, I can provide a direct link to download the video if anyone wants it (I didn't spend a month working on this thing just to let Youtube prevent me from sharing it!). So, anyway...

Here is my first ever contribution to the Kirk/Spock fandom! Finally, I have emerged from the ranks of the perpetual lurker. Hopefully, this will not be the only time I add to this wonderful fandom (I have a plan in the works!).

Massive spoilers lie ahead, both in the video and in the following brief synopsis. Turn back now if that's an issue.

This vid is a little bit of angsty speculation--What if the ending to Star Trek Into Darkness had turned out quite differently (I.E., no superblood, or the superblood was discovered too late)? Poor Spock would be all alone, having realized many things far too late. (This actually started out as an idea for a fanfic, but it just turned out that it would be way too long and too much of an undertaking, so I made a vid instead. Who knows? Maybe I'll write it, one day. Star Trek fandom is alive and kicking!)

I’m traveling backwards through time, and if you wouldn’t mind giving me a hand, I’d like to stop now. )

Aria de Mezzo Carattere
I got bored at work and reworked this song to turn it into a karaoke version (without all the 'ahhs') so people could sing along with it. It was a conversation with a coworker that brought this up (we gamers have to stick together!) and she'd said at one point she'd looked everywhere trying to buy a karaoke version of "Aria de Mezzo Carattere" from Final Fantasy 6, but couldn't find anything but midi files. Obviously, midi files are tinny-sounding on some computers, and do not have the life of something done with real samples, so in the utter boredom of a Monday night I took up the challenge. The .rar file contains the Aria in its original key, plus one in a lower key and one in a higher key. Also included is the midi file I used as a basis for the others.

Download the .rar file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/105774382/AriaDeMezzoCarattere.rar.html

Let me know what you think of them. I had a lot of fun doing this, so use it for whatever you want. I hope someone gets some use out of it! :) If you use it, let me know! I'd love to see it in action!

EDIT: If for some reason the link to download this becomes broken, just comment here and I'll re-upload it. I still have the songs safely stored on a backup hard drive, so it will be no trouble at all! :)

Recipent: [livejournal.com profile] lanna_kitty, who requested: "Aliens/Alien rituals made them do it/get married." This fic is probably not the type of thing you had in mind, as it came out a little strange. But either way, I hope you like it. :)

Excerpt from my NaNoWriMo WIP...
A (very) short little excerpt from my NaNo Novel. For the most part it is unedited and made of fail. This particular scene is set during SG1 Season 9 episode "Origin."

The first time Ayiana hears the word 'Ori', a shiver meanders its way down her spine and she resists the urge to recoil in disgust. )

So, is it good? Bad? Does it make you want to read more or run away screaming in the other direction?

[livejournal.com profile] sg_rarepairings Fic: Thorns, Puddle Jumpers, and Cartwheels (Shep
Title: Thorns, Puddle Jumpers, and Cartwheels
Author: [livejournal.com profile] the_rushingwind
Pairing: Sheppard/Lorne
Rating: R (some graphic sex, a bit of strong language)
Category: Humor
Archive: No. You may link here, but don't archive elsewhere.
Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate or the pretty people on TV.
Spoilers: Up to Season 2's The Runner.
Word Count: 1268

Author's Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] infinimato, who requested adult Sheppard/Lorne with humor, guns, and cartwheels, and did not want any fluff or mpreg. At first when I saw my prompt, I panicked. I'd never written humor before, and I'd certainly never envisioned anyone in Atlantis performing cartwheels. :) But in the end, you have no idea how much fun I had writing this. I just hope it's funny to the readers. :)

And I also must sing the praises of [livejournal.com profile] purple_cube, my wonderful beta.

I learned my lesson, okay? No more sex in strange, off-world forests! )
